Hey there. The pages look good. I thought there was an error because the background face was disappearing, but then I realized that happened when I moused over the content ...
I did notice I cannot log into the site anymore. When I try to log in, it presents a blank screen, but doesn't give me any errors. Do I have to log in again?
I am trying to redesign a website as well from the ground up. I will post more for everyone after I get a bit closer to completion.

The new site uses a completely different user table. I need to import the data from the phpBB2 user table, or you can create a new login. The blank screen was a bug, but it's fixed now.

Hello! I was recently hired at a place called The Dehner Company. They make custom English riding boots, police patrol boots, and other leather goods. We also do alot of boot for Hollywood, in fact all the boots in C.H.I.P.S. were from us, as well as Me Myself and Irene. (just to name a few)
Anyway, they hired me as a webmaster and ad designer and here is our brand new web-site that just went live a few weeks ago. Any comments or suggests would be great! I code everything by hand and do most of my own graphics.

I've just started using HostMonster a few weeks ago and moved my sites from a server at the house. I'm really pleased with the hosting so far. I've looked over a lot of the sites posted in this thread and have got to say there's definitely some talent here. I guess I can throw my hat in the ring with a couple of my sites.
The first is a commercial site with my art. I completely rebuilt it when I moved it to HostMonster. I've never done any PHP coding, any SQL, or built a web page using CSS from the ground up but I cobbled this together in the past couple of weeks. The portfolios are database driven and the site is still getting tweaked here and there as I test it with various browsers and platforms.
Overman Woodworks (http://www.overmanshop.com)
The second site is just another WordPress blog created to talk about my work a little more candidly, share some techniques with both collectors and other artists, and generally have a forum for talking about things that are going on in my area.
The Naked Woodturner (http://www.nakedwoodturner.com)
No, there's no nudity. I wouldn't get any returning hits if there were. Just open discussion.
Comments and suggestions are welcome on both sites. Thank you for looking.

That's a pretty informative site you have there! Great job! With so many guru's out there, telling you that you need this 'n that, but sometimes not telling you WHY, or leaving out all the details, it's great to see someone who explains things in a bit more detail!
I like the autoresponder page, that's a question I see a lot from people (I'm involved with internet marketing myself). Think I'll start referring them to that page, it offers a good explanation of that subject.
For those that already have an online business, or are thinking about getting started with one, this is a site I ran across that offers a lot of the tools that are used & needed:
www.ginormouspackagedeal.com (http://www.ginormouspackagedeal.com)
It's this huge package deal of items that you can also resell to others. I'm using a lot of the items that are within this package for my own marketing, and can tell you that when I originally bought these software programs (separately), they cost me more than the price of this entire package. Too bad it wasn't available when I started years ago.
There's so many people involved with selling affiliate & internet marketing related products, along with the numerous digital products available, that sometimes its just overwellming. Makes me wonder how anyone is really making money with so many choices! Wish I would have thought about creating a package like the one above! Oh well... I've got enough stuff going on as it is.
My blog that I run (see sig), contains a lot of tips for people who are interested in affiliate & internet marketing as well. Go check it out, you might learn something!

When I go to either of these, I just get a message at the top that says "click here to install Adobe Flash Player", and a blank screen ... nowhere to click to bypass the Flash page. The only option is to close the site. It would be nice if some navigational system were in place for those who choose not to download and install special software just to see the page. That way, you wouldn't chase potential customers away.

I really like the idea behind the options on this site. One thing I would look at though, and this is completely personal, is creating a horizontal or veritcal menu for those that choose to use no frames. Right now, users have to click on the menu icon and they get what looks like a site map tree-based menu. You can create a css-based drop-down menu that stays visible if someone turns off the menu frame (or all frames) and clean up the template that way. You don't even have to get rid of the images associated with each menu option either! ;)
I'm not a fan of frames, but I think you did a great job on the site.

I like your minimalist and clean approach to Wordpress theme design, 'PHLAK'!
This (http://trentwusc.org) is the website I manage for my university campus non-profit organization.
It uses Wordpress and I have gone to much pain trying to optimize it for speed and search engine-friendliness. Recently, much of my focus has been reducing image use in favor of creative CSS alternatives, reducing my dependence on unnecessary plugins, compressing Javascript and CSS and compressing all of the web content served by the site through GZIPping.
Although I have done as much as I can to deal with security, bad bots and spam, I try to keep an eye out for the latest developments. Yeah, most of my time is spent under the .htaccess hood when it comes to this!

Hi, I've been running a vacation rental in Melbourne Beach, FL for about five years now. I was using a straight frames based site until January when I switched to Joomla and a reservation system component "JomRes".
The site is at www.MelbourneBeachHouse.com. Please check it out and let me know if you find anything that seems weird or messed up.
Thank you in advance,

We just turned on our website and yes it is a work in progress. I have never done anything like this before, was a college athletic director that went into raising/training horses. My sister started making jewelry for the western horsewomen and asked me to try my hand at creating a website. Let me know of suggestions, ideas. This is my first post on this site.

I'm using the Joomla! CMS and am loving it!
I had joomla recommended to me by the same person who recommended HM. I have it downloaded but haven't even looked at it.
I understand it has to be uploaded to a site to start working on it?
Since I'm new at all this, I don't know how to do that and keep what I do have of my frontpage site up while I decide if I can use Joomla.
Or maybe I misunderstood the guy? I may go take a second look.
I have so many questions and sometimes feel silly for asking.

Let’s have a thread where Hostmonster customers can show off their websites.
:D
Well mine's been posted a few times due to the trouble I have.
http://reidsgreenhouse.com
I have the home page fixed, I think, except I am not happy with the way the tables look.
I hope to fix the navigation on the other pages this weekend. Just haven't had time today...course I could be doing that rather than reading and posting; but feel I need to learn more before I go much further in time investment.
The site is basically for local customers to browse what we offer. I don't intend to do any e-sales yet anyway due to inspection and shipping.
It's for informational purposes.

nice work everybody,
I have a small architectural firm and finally launched my website:

I was messing with DW cutting and pasting code and scripts from here and there and this is the result.
Now I'm researching about SEO and what is the best way to get a higher organic rating in Google.
I would be happy to know what your thoughts are...

I had no prior experience with Web building and publishing to the internet until a month ago.I used iWeb to create, Cyberduck to transfer files and Text Wrangler to edit html. It took me a bit of time to learn editing...but with all of the information out there, all of my questions were answered.Truly amazing ...the knowledge base that is on the internet!
I believe that the Apple software and third party downloads made it easy for a newbie like me to be able to do what I have done..We're gettin' there. Dial-up connection out here in the sticks doesn't help much either...Oh well. Thanks All. Doug.

Oh yeah, I am new to web sites (almost 2 weeks)...a real newbie; so, I am using the PageWizard Site Builder that is included. I am still confused about metatags and how best to interact with the html. I just set up the log programs for Awstats. I might be doing it all wrong; but, the page is up and running. I would greatly welcome suggestions and comments. One of my daughters suggested using color for the background...duh; what an improvement. I checked out some of the sites listed on this forum...you guys are good.

Hi friends!
I am a photographer from Serbia. I just wanted a photo portfolio site,
just to show photos.
I am thinking of what type of watermark to use to, secure my images.
Most of the images are using big x style watermark with old domain name,
but last photos use just nev domain on the bottom
Here is the link: Darko Novakovic photography (http://www.darkonovakovic.com)
btw: you can write some comments under the photos if you like,

Hi everyone ;)
my site is a forum about mathematics with LaTeX enabled: you write your math formula between dollars as you do when you write a TEX file to make a PDF document, and it displays very well :)
The url is http://www.openmaths.org/
I have installed LaTeX as a web service so everyone can use it to display maths formulas over the web! Just use for example the following url as the src attribute of an img html tag:
http://www.openmaths.org/cgi-bin/mathtex.cgi?\sqrt{\sqrt{10000}}=10
and you'll display
http://www.openmaths.org/cgi-bin/mathtex.cgi?\sqrt{\sqrt{10000}}=10
So if you're interested in maths and other sciences, come visit us ^^
Thanks for reading.

Oh really ? Howcome your product description states that all software will be shipped on a DVD-R and you may receive other material such as manuals, etc?
markage09
01-23-2010, 01:06 PM
Our software is retail software, but we use cheaper materials, such as the CD containing the software is a DVD-R type, which is much cheaper than double-layer discs. Printing on CD's also costs alot of money, so we just leave them blank. And the product will not come in the original box, it will come in our own packaging. Why pay for these pointless features when you don't need them? // Using these cheaper materials does not in any way affect the software.
markage09
01-23-2010, 01:11 PM
the other materials will only be included if there are other materials. For example the adobe photoshop will have a manual.
I hope this gives you a better understanding about the website

looks fairly plain and simple and that is fine with me. My only complaint would be to use larger nav buttons for previous/next... Your watches are so large and therefor the center of attention, that I almost didn't notice the arrows down there. The mouseover effects are nice and professional though. I never went to the cart so that's all I have for now.
