View Full Version : Moderator Approval Needed
I can't post thread Title: Frontpage Form not working in Add-on Domain (Solved)
Tried twice, pm'd three moderators, and tried to talk to support@hostmonster.com
HM support said
...we actually don't have any control over what goes on with the forums...
No response from any moderators... What's up? It's been three days!
Just tried to reply to this thread with information about the (Solved) post and it disappeared ... my how strange... maybe I'll get up to my 100 posts soon...
For sure I'll have the Random Question memorized...
This is to much...
If any HM users want to see how this was solved go to http://www.frontpagewebmaster.com/m-408773/tm.htm

I don't think you need to get a certain number of posts to avoid the moderator queue. Some of my own posts have been filtered and I haven't seen them being cleared for posting.
The existing spam-fighting mechanism built into the forum seems to be working too well. And I believe the human moderators have been away for a while.

That seems to be putting it lightly...

Thanks for the feedback. I wasn't referring to # of posts to filtering, just the fact that by the time I was able to provide any useful information I would have the 100 posts needed to have a signature:D
Anyway, I do have an interest in HMF being successful because I signed up here for three years. My old host (Paetec) was not providing any support and not keeping php or other server side resources up to date. I was hoping HM would do what it had advertised...
If wilsonmh or stephen are watching I would like them to know that I would like to volunteer to be a moderator. I will PM my resume... for what it is worth, I am a retired system admin...

Having the same problem. Is there a solution?
As you can see from this link http://www.mattheaton.com/?p=250 the excuse is that everyone is very busy...
Until SOMEONE decides to take an interest we will have to fend for ourselves...
I don't want to have to change host again... it is a lot of work...
Is it just plain arrogance? To big to fail?? Problem is that if they DO FAIL they bring a lot of hard working little people with them... and we do not have the 'golden parachutes'...
ps... that random question is getting sooooooo annoying ....

Are you talking about forum moderation or the hosting service? After reading Matt's post, I don't get the sense that he was saying they were too busy to help out. The regular moderators do not work for HostMonster; they are customers like you so their responsibilities should not be affected by data center matters.

This forum, while set up by HostMonster, is intended for customer-to-customer communication as explained here (http://hostmonsterforums.com/showthread.php?264-Please-Read-Before-Posting!).
I understand the moderation queue limitation is frustrating, but I don't see why you would want to change hosts just because of this. If you are experiencing any problems with your web hosting, simply contact HostMonster directly. If you're not getting answers on this forum, it's because customers aren't answering; not because HostMonster refuses to.

What is this random question? I left HostMonster some time ago, so am unfamiliar with the recent changes.
What is this random question? ...
You didn't have to answer this:
Random Question: What is Hostmonster's official support telephone number (found at http://www.hostmonster.com/cgi/info/contact_us)?
When you replied to this thread? It's right at the top... has to be input every time... and most annoying is when you want to preview... and have to put it in again before you can submit...

Hmmm... I've never seen that.
For a while, this forum was getting a lot of spam. One of the mods told me that they were doing the best he could in terms of cleanup, but admin action was needed for a long-term solution. This is probably a new security feature to help keep the spammers out. And a certain post count might be required for it to disappear.
